The offer is available to anyone taking out home insurance with Barclays for the first time until 31st August 2009. Gary Duggan, managing director for consumer lending and insurance for Barclays, said: “This offer could help thousands of people to cut the cost of their home insurance and it’s also a perfect opportunity to make sure they are currently covered for all eventualities.

A family living in Chelmsford taking out, our standard contents insurance of £50,000, could pay just £5.66 a month, knocking £68 of their annual bill.”
