Halifax has launched a 7-year, no product fee mortgage as part of its campaign to help first-time-buyers onto the housing ladder.
According to the lending giant, the product, which also rewards customers with £500 towards moving costs, was made possible through the government’s Funding for Lending scheme.
Mortgage director Stephen Noakes said: “There is no question that first time buyers have to overcome major hurdles to join the property ladder; but this product has been designed specifically with them in mind.
“With a 10 per cent deposit, the certainty of monthly payments over a long period, the removal of product fees and £500 cashback at a time when they need it most; this offers a real solution for aspiring homeowners.”
The first-time-buyer-only product is available at 5.89 per cent, fixed for seven years, at 85-90 per cent loan-to-value.
