CityBusters, a new website dedicated to make renting in London easier, has announced it now has ratings on all flats to let in the capital.
CityBusters, which calls itself a TripAdvisor type of platform for London renters, wants to provide people looking for a new place to stay with information about the flat, landlord and rental experience even before they have set foot in the property. As landlords and letting agents are allowed to do a rigorous background checks on tenants, CityBusters wants to give people the same opportunity and let them check reviews from previous tenants and a reputable source.
The London-based rental startup said that to get each flat score it has used a number of variables including street crime, unemployment rate, public transport, and other factors. This will finally allow young professionals, students, families and newcomers to be fully informed of what they are getting into before even going for a viewing and assist with their due diligence before signing the lease.
With only two weeks CityBusters had investors knocking on its door. Hitting the ground running, the two founders of the company Tim Stöber and Ferrah Raza have began to make a name for themselves, as the London rental market is bursting at the seams with (dis)satisfied renters looking for a space to air their letting experiences with letting agents and landlords.
Who stands behind CityBusters?
When Tim and Ferrah met at university they both knew they wanted to get into business together. Little did they know that it’s business that combines work and love.
They are young alumni of tech companies such as Cisco, HP and a ServiceNow Partner, and have started their own company together called CityBusters.
Sporting a solid background at some top universities like the University of Oxford and the University of Toronto, they are not just ‘brains’. As native of Germany, Tim competitively ran the 4×100 meter relay for the nationals, and Ferrah comes from linage of pageant finalists.
Who said you can’t have beauty and brains and who said you need to separate work from your personal life?
Engaged in December 2014, they will be married this year.
