Whether it was your first home, second or even a subsequent purchase you’ll remember how daunting it was being confronted with so many different tasks – from finding the best savings plan to help you build your deposit, to choosing a mortgage which would fulfil your needs and then finding a solicitor and removal firm to help you with the act of moving.
So, if you found a business which made this journey a little easier, offered you a great deal or simply had empathetic employees who made completing the biggest purchase of your life feel a little less daunting, then it’s likely you’ll want to recommend it to others.
And this is the purpose of the What Mortgage Awards. We gain insights from our readers to help us recognise the best firms in the industry. The idea is, if you have had a good experience, then it’s likely others will. It’s a seal of approval which tells other potential customers that this firm has been endorsed by the public.
So, we are delighted to announce, the nomination process for this year’s awards is now officially open! All you need to do to have your say is click on this link and fill in your nominations in the relevant category.
New categories added
This year, to enable us to better represent the mortgage and homebuying industry, we have added two new categories.
We will now be looking for the Best First-Time Buyer App and the Best Removal/Moving Support Firm.
One of the biggest challenges for first-time buyers is building a deposit and becoming ‘mortgage-ready’ which includes having a good credit score. To meet this need a number of businesses have created ‘coaching apps’ to help potential first-timers improve their chances of becoming homeowners, and we will be looking for the most popular one.
Amidst all the stress of mortgage applications and solicitor’s emails you will no doubt also be co-ordinating – with military precision – moving day.
We say ‘day’, but we know it’s a process which involves weeks of decluttering, sorting, cleaning and planning. But how do you find the best firm to fulfil your needs? And what if you need storage solutions or advice on relocating overseas?
This is why we decided to add the ‘Best Removal/Moving Support firm’ to our awards. Physically moving is a Big Deal, but we want to help you identify the businesses out there which can help you.
Although there are a number of categories – you only need to fill out the ones which are relevant to you. There’s also a comment section so feel free to drop us a line if you wish to add any more detail.
