If we’re going to reach net zero emissions, we have to make our homes use less energy and we have to change how we heat them.

In fact, 90% of homes in England have gas or oil central heating systems. To work towards net zero, this needs to change.

So how can Perenna help? We understand that upgrading your home can take time and costs money. We also know that every home is different. And every person uses energy differently.

Do you want to take the first step to lowering your energy usage? Ready to help protect the environment, lower your utility bills and maybe even increase the attractiveness of your home for sale?

We can help. It’s important to get information and support from trusted places. To make that simpler, we’ve pulled together a list of independent resources to help you get started.

Remortgaging? Think retrofit

Are you a homeowner getting ready to remortgage? Want to make energy efficient upgrades to your home? Now could be the perfect time.

How does a lower mortgage rate, lower energy usage and doing less harm to the environment sound? We thought you might like that!

That’s why we now offer a ‘retrofit discount feature’ on our remortgage range (terms and conditions apply).

If you install solar panels or a heat pump within 2 years, we will lower the interest rate on your mortgage for the rest of the term. That means lower monthly mortgage payments and lower carbon emissions. Win-win!

What’s more, if you move to Perenna, you’ll be joining the mortgage revolution. You’ll still receive all the usual benefits of a Perenna long-term fixed rate mortgage, meaning you can enjoy monthly payments that don’t change, with a short early repayment charge of five years to give you flexibility

Why is Perenna offering this discount?

We want to do our bit to help tackle climate change.

Installing low-carbon technologies is a great way to reduce emissions at home. But we know that this can be costly, and sometimes tricky. And this may not be a priority for you and your family.

That’s why we want to offer this discount. We want to reward you for taking on the challenge. Because every home that is improved gets us one step closer to a brighter future.

How to apply

Our mortgages are available through independent brokers. They can provide tailored advice on your needs. If you’re interested in remortgaging to Perenna, we can help you to find a broker who can help.

You may lose your home if you don’t keep up your mortgage repayments
