Natalie Ellis, director of Steel City Mortgages, explains how the business supports not just its clients but the community of which it is rooted
At Steel City Mortgages we’re more than just a service provider, we’re part of the fabric of Sheffield and proud to be so.
We live here, work here and care deeply about the people who call it home. Our passion for what we do is rooted in connection — to our clients, our community and the causes we support.
I have to give them a mention – it’s too important to me not to. We collaborate with Titans Boxing Gym of Sheffield – a family run business which coaches professional boxers and also dedicates their time to fitness classes plus children’s and college programmes. We also work with IDAS domestic abuse charity, which helps families and individuals who have suffered domestic abuse, Mossbrook Special School, which provides education specifically to improve the lives of pupils in Sheffield with Special Educational Needs.
We didn’t build this business just to offer a service. We built it to be part of something bigger — to help people, build lasting relationships, and make a positive impact where we live.
Every conversation, referral and social media post is another way for us to share that passion and build trust with those around us.
We’re proud to say that most of our leads come from word-of-mouth and referrals — something we see as the biggest compliment. When people trust us enough to recommend us to their friends, family or colleagues, it means we’re doing things right.
