The comments come after a recent YouGov poll revealed that three million people are planning on moving home by July this year.

Speaking about carbon neutral home expenses, spokesperson for Firstrung Paul Holmes said: “So far we have heard little from developers how carbon neutral building will affect their bottom line, however Rics [Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors] will undoubtedly comment on this at some stage in the future.
“Any increased cost will not be absorbed by developers but simply passed on to the purchaser.”
