First-time buyers and homeowners planning to remortgage or switch to one of the banks mortgage products have until 31 July 2012 to make the saving.
Initially launched to first-time buyers in May, the scheme was extended last month to include those hoping to make the switch.
Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks retail director Steve Reid (pictured) said: “The banks fee free mortgage offer is designed to help people find the right mortgage to suit their individual needs without having to pay an arrangement fee and we have had a great response to the offer so far.
“Now the offer has been extended until the end of July we anticipate an even greater uptake from buyers who want to take advantage of this saving.”
Clydesdale and Yorkshire Banks offer a three year rate fixed at 5.99 per cent for buyers with a 5 per cent deposit and a three year fixed rate at 4.99 per cent for buyers with a 10 per cent deposit.
The standard fee for these mortgages is £999, but under the fee free scheme, the banks will waive these fees. Customers remortgaging from another lender won’t have to pay any legal or valuation fees.
