Improving a home’s energy efficiency with insulation will save money and carbon, according to the National Insulation Association (NIA).
And, the organization has called for householders to take advantage of the current subsidies and grants available towards the cost of insulation before the current Carbon Emissions Reduction Target (CERT) scheme ends in December 2012.
It said that figures suggest there are millions of households which could be paying more than they need to for their fuel bills.
NIA chief executive Neil Marshall said: “The NIA wants to make sure that householders take advantage of the current high levels of funding for insulation whilst it’s still available.
“This scheme provides an excellent opportunity for residents to insulate their homes, both against rising fuel bills and also to ensure that they remain warm throughout the coming winter.”
