The Lord Mayor of Leicester, Councillor Ted Cassidy MBE, has broken ground at the latest phase of Westleigh’s popular housing development Belgrave Riverside.
Councillor Cassidy joined Robert Orr, Sales and Marketing Manager, at Westleigh Homes to dig the first sod and launch phase three of the city centre development on Ross Walk.
“I am delighted to support this new housing development by Westleigh, another important contribution to the regeneration of the Belgrave Riverside,” Councillor Cassidy (pictured left) said.
Westleigh will build 118 new properties at the development and it’s anticipated that the new homes will be ready to move into by next spring.
Phase two of the development, which saw 33 two- and three-bedroom homes built, proved so popular that house buyers were snapping up the properties before they were even built.
In phase three, Westleigh will build a mixture of two-, three- and four-bedroom properties during phase three, all of which will be available to purchase through the government’s Help to Buy Scheme. The scheme is available to buyers with a 5 per cent deposit looking to buy a home with just a 75 per cent mortgage.
The development is conveniently located off the A607 Belgrave Road and is within easy reach of local amenities such as Abbey Park and Leicester city centre.
Robert Orr, sales and marketing manager for Westleigh Homes, commented, “If phase one and two of this development are anything to go by, phase three is likely to sell fast as the site is in such a sought after location, as a result we would urge anyone interested to register their interest with us soon.”
