Mortgage advice is now available in person at some branches of Norwich & Peterborough (N&P) Building Society.
Fully-trained advisors are in place at seven branches across East Anglia, with a further 13 taking up their roles before the end of March.
The mutual aims to have advisers available at 37 of its 46 branches by the end of the year. The remaining nine branches will continue to offer mortgage advice via the society’s telephone contact centre.
The first seven branches includes two in Norwich and one in Peterborough, Great Yarmouth, King’s Lynn and Ipswich.
Richard Barker, N&P product manager, said: “Having an adviser available in branch allows customers to get to know the specialist who will help them buy a home or remortgage their existing property.
“Gaining advice face-to-face can be of great benefit to borrowers during what can be a complex process. Some customers are happy to organise everything themselves but many like that reassurance of knowing a friendly face who can offer expert assistance.”
N&P offers a range of mortgages up to 90 per cent loan-to-value (LTV), including fixed, tracker and offset products for house purchase or remortgage customers.
Fixed rate products currently start at 2.79 per cent for a two year 75 per cent LTV mortgage, with a £795 product fee.
For the past three years, N&P mortgages could only be arranged over the telephone, a service which will still be available for all customers on 0845 300 2522.
