Buyers, sellers or renters with burning questions about their mortgage, the property market or any other aspects of moving house can now obtain advice courtesy of a new discussion forum.
Home move services website reallymoving.com aims to provide a place where people can pick up tips, share opinions or simply vent their frustrations.
Indeed, it has taken inspiration from the ‘Am I Being Unreasonable’ (AIBU) section of Mumsnet to create one of its discussion boards on the forum.
But visitors can also join or create threads to discuss a variety of other topics including mortgages, renting, property development, legal issues, buying abroad, dealing with estate agents and finding removal companies.
It also provides a place for people to have general discussions around buying and selling.
The forum, which has over 12,000 members who have written 20,000 posts, was bought by reallymoving.com from Homemove.co.uk at the end of last year.
Since then reallymoving.com has injected considerable investment into the website to create – what it describes as – the ‘go to’ place for those negotiating the house move process.
Rob Houghton, CEO of reallymoving.com, said: “We have created as space where the thousands of people moving home in the UK at any one time can come together to ask questions and seek opinions without judgement, bias or cost.
“Buying and selling property can be a complicated process but the collective experience of our users is vast and, along with the expertise of our panel, there isn’t much they won’t know the answer to.
“I hope the forum becomes an invaluable resource for anyone moving home and helps make their journey a little easier.”
Wise move but not sure for how much they paid for it. they could simply install a new open source discussion board and get going. Never heard of somebody buying a forum!
