In 2024, 86% of our customers had at least one medical condition, and we successfully helped individuals with 427 different conditions.
Founded in 1999 by Paul Mellor, The Insurance Surgery started as a life insurance broker for Crohn’s disease. Today, we support thousands of individuals with non-standard requirements, helping them access affordable and suitable life and protection policies.
Due to our reputation within the industry, we have access to the all the household names with some exclusive products, plus a number of specialist insurers too. For example, we are one of only three brokers in the UK with access to a mental health pilot that helps secure lower ratings for mild to severe mental health conditions.
We are always seeking new providers to improve access for fairer client outcomes. Recently, we partnered with a Private medical insurance provider that specialises in cover for individuals living with Crohn’s and Diabetes. Additionally, we have no BMI limit for life insurance cover.
The Insurance Surgery run a referral service, allowing mortgage businesses, wealth management companies and IFAs to refer clients that they are unable to place protection for themselves. We are committed to providing clear, honest, and expert advice, ensuring a seamless experience for customers and partners.
